Two weeks before heading to the Paris Olympics, Egypt's volleyball players won third place in the Challenger Cup tournament. In the bronze medal match, the "Pharaohs" dramatically defeated the Ukrainian team, led by Raul Lozano, 3:2 (21-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-17, 15-13). The most prolific scorer for the winners was opposite Hekal Reda with 24 points (including 3 blocks and 5 aces). He was with CSKA during the 2021/22 season. The opposite also topped the scoring chart for the tournament with 51 points, before Belgium's match against China.

For Ukraine, Oleksandr Nalozhnyi had the most points with 19 (including 1 block and 1 ace).
With this victory, Egypt climbed to 19th position in the world rankings, displacing Bulgaria, which moved to 20th place.
In the battle for a spot in the Volleyball Nations League, China and Belgium face each other today.
