Bulgaria defeated Lithuania cleanly, recording their fourth win

Bulgaria recorded a fourth success at the European Championship for girls under 18, which is held in Greece and Romania. Toni Zetova's girls outplayed the team of Lithuania with 3:0 (25:15, 25:21, 25:17). Our staff also gave playing time to girls who have been less involved so far.

In the first set, our national team led by 5:0, which forced the opponent to call a timeout. Nevertheless, our team built a comfortable lead, with a slight relaxation allowing Lithuania to close some of the gap in the middle of the set. Until the end of the set, we did not allow the opponent to counteract, closing the part with a ten-point difference.

In the second set, we allowed ourselves to relax and increased the percentage of individual errors (24 total for the match), which led to our opponent recovering. The difference came down to just two points at the very end of the set, and only two consecutively erred serves by Lithuania saved us from greater tension.

The third part also did not start well for us, and in this set was also the first lead in the score in favor of the Baltic state. We failed to pull away significantly in the score, which would provide us with the necessary calm. Again, at the end of the set, we accumulated the necessary points advantage. The end of the set and the match came with an attack by Gabriela Zhekova, and with it all three points for the team led by Toni Zhekova.
