The USA left no chance for Iran and temporarily topped the standings in the VNL

The US national team achieved a clear 3:0 victory (25:23, 25:20, 31:29) over Iran in a match from the second week of the Volleyball Nations League, played in Orleans (France).

The Americans recorded their fifth success, which temporarily put them at the top of the tournament standings. Iran, on the other hand, remained with only one victory so far and occupies 15th place in the provisional ranking.

The outcome of the match also affected the world rankings. After the defeat, "the Persians" lost 3.76 points, dropped one position, and are now 17th in the world with 205.09 points, while the USA maintained third place with 339.44 points.

The Americans had an advantage in almost all key elements of the game. They scored more points from attack (51 vs 49), were more effective in blocking (6 vs 5), and particularly impressed with serving with five direct points against two for Iran. Additionally, their opponent gifted them 19 points from errors compared to 16 for the Iranians.

The difference was not significant in attack and block, but the USA compensated with a more effective serve and forced Iran to make more errors. These two components tipped the scales in favor of the Americans.

In the statistics of game elements, the Americans also recorded a slight advantage in digs (56 vs 54), while Iran was better in reception (71 vs 61) and organized attacks (97 vs 93). Nevertheless, better attack completion proved decisive.

The top scorer for Iran was Hagparast with 16 points, and Morteza added 15.

For the USA, Hartke and Anderson finished with 18 points each, leading the team to a clear victory in three sets.
