Dobriana Rabadzhieva and the captain of the Belgian national team Sam Deroo shared the happiest news of their lives – the two have become parents to a baby girl, who bears the beautiful name Mia.
The news was announced via an emotional post on social media. The two parents wrote:

"Her strength led us forward. May our love illuminate her path. We love you."

The post also includes the date June 5, 2026 – likely the day little Mia came into the world.
The birth of the couple's first child comes after an extremely emotional period for the family. Earlier this year, it became clear that Rabadzhieva and Deroo were expecting a baby girl. The Belgian national himself did not hide that future fatherhood had given him strength during one of the most difficult moments of his life.
In December 2025, Deroo announced that he was once again battling an oncological disease. The volleyball player underwent treatment and chemotherapy, and throughout it all, Dobriana Rabadzhieva was by his side. In his posts, the Belgian repeatedly emphasized that love, his partner's support, and the anticipation of their child were among his strongest motivations to overcome the ordeal.
The love story between the two began several years ago when their careers brought them together on the volleyball courts of Europe. After ending her competitive career, Rabadzhieva remained steadfastly by Deroo's side, whether he was playing in Russia or with the Belgian national team. The receiver himself has repeatedly acknowledged how important a role the Bulgarian woman plays in his life and how difficult it would be for him to manage without her support.
Now, however, volleyball takes a back seat.
Their greatest victory is named Mia.
