Brazil overturned Argentina from 0:2 and finished as leader in the first week of the VNL

Brazil finished its participation in the first week of the Volleyball Nations League with a dramatic victory. In front of a packed crowd in the capital, Brasília, the hosts made an impressive comeback from two sets down and defeated Argentina with3:2(18:25,24:26,25:19,25:23,15:9), recording their fourth success in four matches.
The Argentinians started stronger and won the first two sets with 25:18 and 26:24, putting Brazil on the brink of defeat. "Seleção" however, showed character and gradually took control of the match. The hosts reduced the deficit after 25:19 in the third set, equalized with 25:23 in the fourth, and were decisive in the tie-break for the final 15:9.
The victory secured first place for the Brazilians in the provisional standings after the end of the first week, while Argentina remains in 17th, second-to-last position.
Statistics showed a slight superiority for Brazil in all key elements. The hosts scored 65 points from attack against 55 for Argentina, recorded 10 successful blocks against 9, as well as 7 aces against 2. The Argentinians received more points from opponent errors – 36 against 25, but this was not enough for the final success.
In other indicators, Brazil also had a minimal advantage – 54 digs in defense against 52, 88 positive receptions against 82, and 112 successful sets against 105.
The top scorer in the match was Argentinian Vicentin with 24 points, while Armoa Morel added another 18 for Argentina. For Brazil, Judson was the top scorer with 15 points, while Honorato finished with 13 points.
Despite Brazil's victory and Argentina's defeat, there are no changes in the world rankings. The Brazilians remain in 3rd place, and the Argentinians retain their 13th position.
