Eight clubs have already officially submitted applications to participate in efbet Super Volley for the new season. The deadline for submitting documents is Wednesday, when it will finally become clear whether all 12 teams entitled to participate in the elite will confirm their presence in the championship.
"Currently, we have no information or indications that any club intends to withdraw. Our expectation is that the licensing procedure will start with the full roster of 12 teams," stated Hristo Apostolov, operational director of the NVL.
He clarified that the licensing process begins on May 26th and will continue until June 17th, after which the Licensing Commission of the National Volleyball League will review all submitted documents.
Among the main criteria for obtaining a license are the absence of financial obligations to state and municipal institutions, as well as to players and members of the sports and technical staffs. In case of established irregularities, clubs will be given an additional period to rectify them. If the problems are not resolved, the Licensing Commission will issue a final decision.
"Even when introducing the licensing regime, we emphasized that volleyball clubs in Bulgaria must set an example not only with their sports results but also with their correct management and attitude," Apostolov added.
