During the 2024 FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship, held in Uberlândia, at Arena Sabiazinho, two new experimental rules have been introduced with the aim of reducing the overall duration of matches and improving the pace of the game. The first rule involves the use of a 15-second timer between rallies. After each rally, an LED display next to the court will show a countdown of the available time to resume play. The serving team will have 7 seconds to take position in the service zone, and another 8 seconds to execute the serve, totaling 15 seconds. Failure to comply with this time limit will result in the point automatically being awarded to the opposing team. The second change concerns technical timeouts at the coaches' discretion. In the first four sets, each coach will have two 30-second timeouts, but with one condition: the first timeout must be requested before either team reaches twelve points. Otherwise, only the second timeout can be used. In the fifth set, coaches will only have one 30-second timeout.
