PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów has been playing for several weeks with only one starting opposite. According to "Łódzki Sport," a replacement for Kristian Walczak has already been found. This will be the Bulgarian opposite Radoslav Parapunov.
Let's recall that recently PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów was not playing with a full squad. All this was due to the departure of Kristian Walczak. The young opposite joined the Bełchatów team before the start of the current season but quickly took advantage of a Korean offer and moved to Ansan OK Financial Group Okman. As a result, PGE GiEK Skra was left with only one starting opposite. Although Amin Esmaeilnezhad was performing excellently, having scored 272 points in 14 matches played so far in PlusLiga and there weren't many instances where another player had to replace him, Pavle Perić was available. He is a starting outside hitter, who, however, for several weeks filled in as a substitute for the Iranian opposite. The management of the Bełchatów team was looking for a second opposite. Everything indicates that they have finally found one. Radoslav Parapunov will join PGE GiEK Skra. In Bełchatów, he is expected to increase competition in the opposite position and help the team achieve its goal – qualifying for the playoffs.
On Thursday, Gheorghe Crețu's proteges earned a point from the capital, losing in a tie-break to PGE Projekt Warszawa. As a result, they occupy seventh place in the standings, but are still in contention for a spot in the Polish Cup. Not everything depends on them, however. To qualify for the quarter-finals of this tournament, they must not only win their upcoming match against Exact Systems Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa, but also rely on a poorer result in the clash between the volleyball players from Jasna Góra and Trefl Gdańsk.
