Tomorrow marks the start of the Final Eight in the men's Volleyball Nations League tournament. The last competition, which will determine the winner of the commercial tournament, will take place in the Polish city of Lodz between June 27 and 30. The quarter-final pairings in the competition have also been announced:
June 27: Poland – Brazil and Japan – Canada
June 28: Slovenia – Argentina and Italy – France
The semi-finals will be formed between the winners of the first and last pairs (Poland/Brazil – Italy/France), and between the winners of the second and third quarter-finals (Japan/Canada – Slovenia/Argentina), respectively. The battles promise to be interesting again, but the teams will also be cautious, as usually the final phase of the League in an Olympic year does not feature the best players for objective reasons. Italy, for example, immediately announced that they would travel to Poland with their reserve squad, while the main squad would focus on preparing at home for Paris.
Today, however, again in Lodz, the draw for the Olympic groups in the French capital will take place – the event starts at 7 PM Bulgarian time. The pots for the men's tournament are:
Pot 1:France, Poland and Japan
Pot 2:Slovenia, Italy and USA
Pot 3:Brazil, Argentina and Canada
Pot 4:Serbia, Germany and Egypt
The Final Eight of the Nations League will also be the last stop for the teams before the Paris Olympics, and the men's volleyball tournament begins on July 26 and will last until the final day of the Games – August 11.
