Trento qualified for the semifinals of the Club World Championship

Trento defeated the Argentinians from Ciudad Voley 3-0 (25-22, 25-23, 25-16) and practically secured (with two wins and 6 points) a spot in the semifinals of the 2025 Men's Club World Championship. There, under the guidance of Fabio Soli, the team is pursuing another triumph in the tournament, where they have already stood on the highest step of the podium five times. Itas played a good match, but not a perfect one. In the first two sets, although they maintained control of the game, they made too many errors, which allowed the South Americans (among whose ranks Facundo Conte is playing the final matches of his brilliant career) to make several brave attempts at a comeback and lose by a minimal margin.
In the second set, with a 22-19 lead for the Italian team, a Ciudad serve that was going out accidentally hit Gabi Garcia, who was moving behind the end line. From there, a nice comeback began, aided by the serves of the young Gomez, which allowed the Argentinians to take a 23-22 lead, before the higher quality of Soli's team closed the set 25-23.
The final third set passed without any drama, as fatigue and the significant score difference halted the Argentinians' last attempts.
Trento will conclude its preliminary phase on Friday at 0:30 AM against the hosts Sada Cruzeiro in what will be a ceremonial match.
