Yuki Ishikawa's star shines in Japan
The outside hitter for Sir Safety Perugia, who played for Allianz Milano in the first half of 2024, received the "Best Team" award at the Japanese edition of the "GQ Men of the Year 2024" awards as captain of the Japanese national team.

The Japanese men's national volleyball team thrilled the sports community in 2024, winning a silver medal in the Volleyball Nations League and competing for Olympic gold in Paris - an achievement not seen in 52 years, since the 1972 Munich Olympics.During the quarter-final match against Italy at the Paris Olympics, the team recorded the highest television rating among all sports,demonstrating the immense popularity of this discipline. This team, which revived the popularity of men's volleyball in Japan to levels comparable to those of 1980, was selected for the prestigious "GQ Men of the Year" award.
Captain Yuki Ishikawa, who leads the team with exceptional skill, will receive the award as a representative of the "Best Team."
Profile
Captain of the Japanese men's national volleyball team: Yuki Ishikawa Born in 1995 in Aichi Prefecture. He started playing volleyball in fourth grade, inspired by his older sister. During his high school years at Seijo High School, he was a key figure in winning the treble for two consecutive years. In 2014, he enrolled in Chuo University, entering the list of candidates for the Japanese national team. After graduating, he began a professional career in Italy. In 2024, he won a silver medal in the Nations League. He currently plays for the prestigious Italian Serie A club Perugia.
