Levski's team won their first victory in the Champions League, after making an impressive comeback against French Chaumont with 3:2 (22:25, 21:25, 26:24, 25:19, 15:12), after trailing 0:2. The Slovak Julius Firkal, who came in as a substitute for the "Blues", was chosen as the most valuable player of the match.

Nikolay Zhelyazkov's team is now in third place in the standings, having overtaken Chaumont, who has three losses.
Levski started the match with the following lineup: Svetoslav Gotsev, Stoil Palev, Todor Skrimov, Venislav Antov, Vladimir Garkov, Kostadin Kozelov and libero Damyan Kolev.
The tie-break started excellently for the hosts, after an ace by Antov. Chaumont, however, turned the score to 3:1, and Zhelyazkov called a timeout. Levski took a 6:5 lead after an out-of-bounds attack by Chaumont and Prandi called a timeout. The "Blues" took an 8:6 lead before the change of courts. Then it became 9:6 after a triple block by Zhelyazkov's team and another stop in play followed from the Italian coach of the opponent. Firkal had strong attacking plays for 11:8, and Garkov then brought the 12th point. This was followed by an attack by the Finn Niko Suihkonen that went out. Chaumont reduced the lead to 13:12, as the game became tense at the end with constant video challenge requests from both teams. Levski reached 3 match points at 14:11. The "Blues" missed the first, but then prevailed 15:12 after a carried ball by a Chaumont player.
The most effective player for Levski was Venislav Antov with 23 points, Firkal contributed to the success with 17, and Garkov tallied 12.

For Chaumont, Niko Suihkonen was the top scorer in the match with 26 points.
