Galatasaray HDI Insurance men's volleyball team defeated Rams Global Cizre with a score of 3:1 (25:19, 22:25, 25:23, 25:20) in the 9th round of the SMS Group Efeler League.
The victory was not easy at all, as the two teams exchanged one set each and the guests took the lead in the third, leading almost until the end (16:19, 21:22), and were the first to get set point. Galatasaray showed more resilient psyche and stability in attack and managed to cross this Rubicon to close the match with a 3:1 victory. The match was played in the TVF Burhan Felek Vestel Hall, where Galatasaray was the host. National player Martin Atanasov finished with the second-highest score of 17 points (2 aces), with his attack statistics almost identical to those of two-time Olympic champion Jean Patry.

The French international finished with the most points - 20 (2 aces, 2 blocks). Thus, Galatasaray moved up to second position in the standings after Halkbank, but they have played one more match than the teams following them, Ziraat Bank (one point less) and Spor Toto (3 points less). Patry and company will face Ziraat Bank on December 1st in a direct clash for second place in the temporary standings. The two teams will also meet in the 1/8 finals of the CEV Cup Eurotournament, with the capital team hosting on December 19th.
"The Lions" won their away match against Bursa Metropolitan Belediyespor 3:0 last week, while their opponent Rams Global Cizre lost 3:1 to Neftochimik's executioner Spor Toto in their own hall.
