Andrea Giani: In Italy I had to pay a fine of 100,000 euros to work two jobs!

I was bored in Italy, and I had long liked the Polish league as a new direction for work. I wanted to go to a well-organized club that I would commit to for more than one seasonin Italy, it will get to the point where club teams will not be able to attract a professional at the appropriate level because these incomprehensible rules will prevent it- ZAKSA coach Andrea Giani shared in an interview with Edyta Kowalczyk from Onet Sports Review.

Bored of Italy
Andrea Giani is only in his first season in PlusLiga. Previously, he was associated with Italian club volleyball for years. Until recently, he led the Modena team but decided it was time for a change.
- I was bored in Italy, and I had long liked the Polish league as a new direction for work. I wanted to go to a well-organized club that I would commit to for more than one season and be able to take my whole family to a new place - Andrea Giani shared. The experienced coach does not hide that he was tired of the Italian league and disgusted by the officials' approach to changes.
- Sometimes, from an approach perspective, Italians are very closed-minded, and if you come with a new solution because you have a different view on something, you often hit a wall. "We are the best," "we play the best." I have a different approach - the Italian admitted.

Italian absurdity
For years, Giani combined working for Italian clubs with the national teams of Slovenia, Germany, and lately France. However, it turned out that he had to pay a fine for both jobs.
- I don't understand whyaccording to the requirements of the Italian league, I have to pay fines of 100,000 euros for two jobs- in Serie A and in the national team. Moreover, this is not a regulation introduced by the club that hires you, but by the league's management. At one point,in Italy, it will get to the point where club teams will not be able to attract a professional at the appropriate level because these incomprehensible rules will prevent it- Giani does not hide.Restoring ZAKSA's strength

Giani went to Kędzierzyn-Koźle, where his task is to restore ZAKSA's position in PlusLiga after the terrible previous season.
- I don't want to look back. The squad has changed, the coach has changed, and I want to work here and now, to think about the future. That's why I emphasized that I don't want to talk about what was before and focus on building the current collaboration. The team is working well, the players are well-organized, our staff is doing everything possible to ensure everyone is as well-prepared as possible. We are learning a new communication system among ourselves. I told the players that each of us is responsible for how we do our job - both me and them - the Italian coach concluded.
