A great game by Alex Nikolov in the decisive moments led to a clean 3:0 victory for Lube over Modena (25:11, 25:17, 25:20). Our national player scored double digits for the second time since joining the team after his summer surgery. Nikolov finished with 15 points (4 aces, 2 blocks). The most effective player for the winners was Adis Lagumdzija with 17 points (1 block and 6(!) aces). The Turkish national player became the MVP of the match.
The third set was the most contested, when the visitors, among whom were former Lube teammates Simone Anzani and Luciano De Cecco, managed to equalize (19:19) after a long dispute between the hosts and the referee, which resulted in captain Balaso receiving a yellow card. This was followed by an important attacking point from Nikolov (20:19), who then went to the service line and scored an ace for 21:19. Another powerful serve from Alex followed, and the hosts comfortably took a 3-point lead. Botolo added another point in attack, after which Nikolov served out. The visitors "returned the favor" and Lube got their first opportunity to close the set and the match. Botolo did this again, being one of the three, besides Alex Nikolov and Lagumdzija, who finished the match with double-digit scores - 11 points. No one from Modena managed to score more than 8 points (Sanguinetti and Buchegger).
Thus, Lube "anchored" itself in fourth place in the standings with 5 wins and 3 losses. Milano is in fifth place with one more match played.

The other Bulgarian national player in Serie A1 - Georgi Tatarov - contributed 4 points in Gratozolina's 0:3 loss to champion Perugia. Matey Kaziyski recorded 10 points in Milano's 3:0 away victory over Padova.
