Ivan Petkov and his Volero Le Cannet recorded their second consecutive victory, this time in the European club tournaments. The team from the French Riviera defeated Crvena Zvezda Belgrade at home in the CEV Cup with a score of 3:1 (23-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-23).

The first match of the 1/16 finals of the tournament was played in Gymnase Maillan hall and concluded in 107 minutes. The hosts started with difficulty, losing the first set, but then managed to pick up the pace and decisively take the next two parts. In the last set, the guests from Serbia tried to force the match into a tie-break, but the hosts were more focused and go into the rematch, which is on November 12 in Belgrade, more calmly. The MVP of the match was American Morgan Fingall, who finished with 30 points (3 blocks and 2 aces).
