Lyubomir Ganev: It is not Georgi Bratoev's job to criticize the work of the referees

"It's not the players' job to criticize the referees' work," commented the current scandal at the match between Cherno More and DEYA in Varna to the media. "Just as a player makes a mistake, so too can a referee make a mistake. Currently, the National Volleyball League has two video replay systems available, which, having 6 matches a week, we cannot cover all of them. The League decides which match gets a video check. Naturally, there are halls where it's not possible because there's nowhere to install it. But again, I repeat, everyone should do their job, just as no one blames a player for hitting the ball out or for serving into the net. Right, so there's no way someone, especially someone unprepared, can make statements about referees. Especially Goro, we all know him, right, he tries to make the atmosphere tense at every match. I personally didn't watch the match, I learned about it from the media and the feedback I heard. Yes, even if there was a mistake, you can't blame it as if that mistake was intentional. After all, two of our best referees were present there, especially the head referee, who is one of our leading international arbiters. The prospects and evaluations for these referees are given by international institutions, not by some player who, to be honest, doesn't know exactly what should be called, right. The league itself, I'm sure, will take notes on what needs to be done. You know that for all television matches broadcast on the channels of the companies we have contracts with, MAX Sport and others, we always try to have the LED system to place our League partners and also the video replay systems. Naturally, if it wasn't possible somewhere, ultimately every club, if it wants to have a video replay system for every match, can purchase such a system, right. It costs about 35,000 euros. In all countries, clubs purchase such systems. We in the federation have purchased two such systems. We provide them almost free of charge to the league, literally just to cover installation costs and potential damage. So, ultimately, I repeat again, it's not the player's job to qualify the referees. I remind you that they are not familiar with refereeing rules, they are not familiar with how it should be called," Ganev concluded.
