Nikolay Uchikov, who was part of our national volleyball team for many years, announced his decision to end his career at a ceremony in Burgas, where the Deyia team played a match from the third round of Efbet Super Volley.

The Burgas club honored Uchikov by retiring his number.

"These are normal things, for which the time comes anyway. Passing on the jersey is not a 'goodbye' forever, but just a stage," shared the opposite hitter.

"I will always help in any way I can, but for now I don't see myself as a coach. I hope that I will find what I can invest the most passion in and direct my efforts there," he added.

Uchikov became the top scorer in Serie A2 during the 2011/2012 season. In addition, he is:

• Winner of the Greek Cup in 2018 with PAOK (Thessaloniki)

• Champion of Bulgaria with Neftochimic 2010 for 2019.
