Beroe defeated Montana as a guest with 3:0

Montana's team lost to Beroe 2016 with a score of 0:3 (19:25, 23:25, 25:27) at home. This is definitely the surprise of the round, which came after 112 minutes of play. Youth vice-European champion Zhasmin Velichkov started as a starter for Beroe. The hosts started the first set hesitantly, with the score being tied several times until the middle of the game. After 13:13, the guests took the initiative, with the trio Chernokozhev-Velichkov-Zhelev accumulating point after point. The final 19:25 came after a service error by Molotkov. The first half of the second set proceeded in an almost identical manner, with neither team able to gain a significant lead in the score. Dani Peev's boys were the first to reach the 20-point mark, with Latunov equalizing and Molotkov again giving a one-point advantage to his team (22:21). From here until the end of the set, the hosts managed to score only one more point, as Zhelev and Chernokozhev again punished at the net. Zhelev again ended the set. The situation in the third set was repeated as if copied, with no one able to break away in the score by more than one point. For the first time in the match, the hosts hinted at their abilities, after taking the lead at the very end of the match 23:22. Hanousek equalized and an attack error by Molotkov gave the first match point to the guests from Stara Zagora. On two occasions, national middle blocker Niki Kolev managed to equalize through the middle (24:24, 25:25). After an error by Valchinov and a successful attack by Chernokozhev, the surprise of the round became a fact.
Again, Molotkov was above all, finishing the match with 23 points (1 ace, 1 block). The trio Chernokozhev-Velichkov-Zhelev scored 13 (1 ace, 1 block), 12 (1 ace, 2 blocks), and 11 (1 block) points respectively. Chernokozhev became the MVP of the match.
