Slavia started the Premier League championship with a loss, Apostol Boyanov is back

Former youth international Apostol Boyanov has returned to his hometown club Slavia. However, "the Whites" started the Super League championship with a 3:1 (12:25, 25:22, 25:22, 26:24) loss to Sofia University, with the match lasting 1 hour and 39 minutes. Severin Dimitrov's boys started the match explosively, taking the first set in just 15 minutes. Two sets of minimal advantage for the visitors followed. In the last set, "the Whites" had a chance to force a tie-break, but a lack of ultimate concentration left them without a point from this first match of the championship. Boyanov did not play in this match, but among Slavia's ranks was new signing and Slavia youth product Viktor Nedyalkov, who was last with Neftochimic.
The 21-year-old Apostol Boyanov played in the Turkish elite, and last season was a key scorer for the elite Czech team Fatra.
In the other matches of the first round of the Super League, the following results were recorded:
Minior Pernik - Arda Kardzhali 3:0
Volleyball Academy "Stoichev-Kaziyski" - Grad Belogradchik 2:3
Rodopa Smolyan - Izgrev Yablanitsa 3:0
Rakovski 1964 - Zvezdets Gorna Malina 1:3
Chernomorets Byala - Botev Lukovit 0:3

Rodopa Smolyan took the lead in the standings after the first round.
