The official Facebook page of the French grand club "Volero Le Cannet" announced the recruitment of Bulgarian coach Ivan Petkov. The Plovdiv native, who has legendary status in his hometown as the most successful coach in the history of "Maritsa", heads to France after several seasons leading the Ukrainian champion "Prometey". Petkov is also the coach of the Ukrainian women's national volleyball team. The coach was also at the helm of Bulgaria for a certain period of time, and before that, as it became clear - for many years with the hegemon of the Bulgarian championship, "Maritsa" Plovdiv.

Ivan Petkov will not be the only Bulgarian in the French team, as Eva Yaneva, who is a club legend, was appointed as sports director. Her position proved to be key in bringing in the Bulgarian coach. Thus, "Volero Le Cannet" is turning into a kind of Bulgarian colony. The goal for the native tandem will be to regain the positions lost in the last season. The club will once again fight for titles and medals both domestically and in European club tournaments.
