The Bulgarian men's national team began its preparation for the summer season with a group of 16 players. The team gathered at the well-known base – the 'SamElion' complex in Samokov, where last year's training also took place.
At this stage, the squad does not include volleyball players from the finalists of the Bulgarian championship – Levski and Neftochimik, as well as some of the players who still have commitments with their club teams abroad. They are expected to join the camp gradually.
Additionally, two players from the U22 national team – Tomislav Rusev and Kostadin Kozelov – will be included in the group. At a later stage, Zhasmin Velichkov, Martin Atanasov, Samuil Valchinov, and Hristiyan Dimitrov will also join the preparation.
Setter Simeon Nikolov is expected to arrive last, as he has commitments with his club team in the Russian Cup tournament in mid-May.
