Leon skipped the operation, rests for a month and waits for Bulgaria on July 15

Wilfredo Leon will get a month off after the end of the club season, having reached an understanding with Poland's national team coach Nikola Grbić. The star of Bogdanka LUK Lublin himself revealed in a conversation with Sara Kalisz from TVP Sport that the decision was made with a view to his physical and mental recovery before the start of national team commitments.
The outside hitter held a conversation with Grbić, in which he clearly stated his need for a break after the demanding season. The coach respected his wish, and the two agreed that Leon would join the team after about a month, during which he will have the opportunity to fully recover and spend time with his family.
This decision comes after an extremely tough campaign for Bogdanka LUK Lublin, marked by numerous injuries within the squad, including Leon himself. Despite the problems, the team reached the PlusLiga final, which further increased the burden on key players.
A serious concern during the season was Leon's hand injury. Small bone fragments were found, which initially led to severe pain and limited finger mobility. At the worst point, the outside hitter experienced discomfort in three fingers, but his condition gradually improved, and currently, the problem is localized to two fingers.

Medical examinations, however, ruled out the need for surgery " the biggest concern for the player himself. Doctors determined that the detached bone fragments were too small to require surgical intervention. Recovery continues through physiotherapy and finger stabilization with taping, and Leon has already managed to return to play, albeit with some discomfort during a stronger grip.
Expectations are that after the planned rest, he will be in significantly better physical condition for the start of the national season.
All of this practically means that Wilfredo Leon will almost certainly be available for Poland for the third week of the Nations League. It is then, on July 15 in Chicago, that the Polish team will start its participation in this tournament window with a direct clash against Bulgaria, which is shaping up to be one of the most interesting matches on the schedule.
