CSKA won the bronze medals in the Bulgarian Women's Volleyball Championship – Demax League. "The Reds" defeated CPVC 3:2 (16:25, 25:18, 23:25, 25:13, 15:13) as guests in Hristo Botev Hall in Sofia in the third decisive match of the series for third place.
Head coach Yulia Ivanova's team won the series 2-1 and finished the season with bronze medals for the second consecutive year.
The match lasted more than two hours and offered many turnarounds. CPVC took a set lead twice, but CSKA showed character and managed to get back into the match.
The hosts took the first set after a strong run of 9 consecutive points, turning the score from 13:14 to 22:14. CSKA responded convincingly in the second set, and the third set was again for CPVC after a hotly contested finish.
In the fourth set, "the Reds" dominated completely and won 25:13, sending the match into a tie-break. In the decisive fifth set, CSKA took an 11:9 lead, CPVC turned it around to 13:12, but "the Army women" finished the match with three consecutive points and celebrated at 15:13.
