Piacenza with historical first trophy in Europe, Italy dominates CEV Cup with 28 titles

Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza won the trophy after a categorical 3:0 (25:20, 25:17, 25:21) victory against Lüneburg in the second final match, closing the clash without losing a set. The Italian team decided everything as early as the second set when they mathematically secured the cup but did not slow down until the end. The match was completely dominated by the hosts, especially in service and attack, where the German team could not respond.
Alessandro Bovolenta was the top scorer with 12 points, and Robertlandy Simon added 11 and was logically chosen as the MVP of the final. Piacenza controlled the game in all elements, with the difference in class and experience being visible throughout. This is the first European trophy in the club's history.
