The volleyball clubs "Levski Sofia" and CSKA supported the "Bring Back the Pulse" campaign, organized by Maria Stoyanova, an 11th-grade student at the American College of Sofia. The campaign aims to provide one automated external defibrillator for each of two of the most popular volleyball halls in Sofia - "Levski Sofia" sports hall and "Vasil Simov", where sports events with numerous spectators and participants are regularly held, which significantly increases the statistical probability of incidents occurring.
Automated defibrillators provide quick, effective, and life-saving therapy in case of cardiac arrest. With properly administered first aid within 3 to 5 minutes after the incident, the chance of survival increases by 50 to 70%.
Vladimir Nikolov:"Levski Sofia" joins the "Bring Back the Pulse" campaign with excitement and gratitude. We are happy that, thanks to this wonderful initiative, we will have an AED – an automated external defibrillator – available in our "Levski Sofia" hall. Of course, we hope that such incidents do not occur, but we know that in case of cardiac arrest, actions in the first seconds and minutes can be life-saving. That's why with an AED, we will feel more at ease and prepared. Thank you for this opportunity!", commented the president of the "blues".
Alexander Popov:We at VC "CSKA" are joining the "Bring Back the Pulse" campaign, with great gratitude for providing an AED for our "Vasil Simov" hall, as well as with the hope that we will never have to use it. However, we are sure that in the future, everyone in the club - coaches, athletes, parents, and fans - will be much more prepared and ready in case of a potential incident and for providing first aid.
Maria Stoyanovais 17 years old and has been involved in sports from a very young age, with volleyball being an essential part of her life for the past 8 years. Parallel to sports, she participates in various volunteer initiatives and projects. One of them is"Able Mentor" - a program for individual mentorship of students who want to realize their projects.
