Coach undermined Karakurt to stop her momentum

Dynamo Metar's coach, concerned by the excellent play of Turkish star Karakurt and provoked by her behavior, poured water on the court, in the area where Ebrar attacks, to stop her momentum.

The ugly incident unfolded yesterday during a match between Lokomotiv Kaliningrad and Dynamo Metar in the Russian Women's Super League. Karakurt received a yellow card in the fifth set after her block for 3:0 and provocative behavior afterward. A few minutes later, the Turkish star scored a point from an attack and again expressed her joy, with her gaze directed at the opposing bench. Deshin requested a sanction for the Turkish player. Dissatisfied with the lack thereof, he threw water on Lokomotiv Kaliningrad's court, at the position where Karakurt was supposed to attack the next ball.

After the situation calmed down, Karakurt's team won the match 3-2, with her scoring 25 points, five of which were from blocks.

"I take responsibility for what happened at the end of the match. I couldn't control myself. I fell for a provocation and I apologize to the fans and the team," said Alexey Deshin.

Ebrar condemned the incident on her Instagram profile, calling the opposing coach's actions unsportsmanlike:

"The biggest lack of respect I have ever seen on the court. I will never accept it... I condemn the opposing team's coach for this action, which is not befitting of volleyball. There isn't much to say...

You can't behave like that just because you are a team's coach! I hope you get the punishment you deserve. People should learn to respect female athletes! Here I only see disrespect and it is very sad.
