The end of this year's group phase of the Women's Volleyball Nations League has been officially marked. After the three competitive weeks, the last participating countries to step onto the Olympic court in the French capital, Paris, have been determined. The draw pots are now completely clear, and the drawing of the three Olympic groups (under the new format; the old one had two groups of 6 teams) will take place in Bangkok, Thailand, as the city will host the League finals between June 20 and 23. The draw will be held one day earlier – on June 19 at 2:00 PM Bulgarian time.
The Olympic pots for the women's volleyball tournament in Paris are:
Pot 1:France – leader of the first group as host, Brazil will lead the second group, and the third will be headed by Italy.
Pot 2:Turkey, Poland, and USA
Pot 3:China, Japan, and the Netherlands
Pot 4:Serbia, Dominican Republic, and Kenya
The Olympic Games start on July 26, with the women's volleyball tournament beginning the very next day and continuing until the penultimate day of the Games – August 10, as traditionally the last competitive Olympic day – in this case, August 11 – is reserved for the men's finals.
