VakifBank defended its title, Abondanza's Fenerbahce with silver

VakıfBank solidified its hegemony in Turkish women's volleyball after defending its title in the Sultanlar League for the 2025/2026 season. The Istanbul team won the final series against Fenerbahçe with a 3:2 victory, prevailing 3:1 (23:25, 29:27, 25:20, 25:19) in the decisive fifth match.
Thus, VakıfBank not only triumphed again but also continued its streak after the title from the previous season, when it also prevailed over Fenerbahçe in the final.

The decisive match started evenly, with both teams going point for point until 5:5. At this point, the hosts capitalized on hesitation in the opponent's attack and built a solid lead. Fenerbahçe responded through Melissa Vargas, who led her team to a comeback and success in the first set – 25:23.
The second set offered immense tension and long rallies. VakıfBank imposed better block organization and defensive stability, and in key moments, the team showed stronger nerves and equalized after 29:27.
The third set proved to be a turning point. VakıfBank dominated at the net, and their block seriously hindered Fenerbahçe's attack. A 5:1 run at the end brought success with a 25:20 score and a lead in the match.
Marcello Abbondanza's team started the fourth set well, but after the halfway point, the initiative completely shifted to the hosts. Derya Cebecioğlu and Markova led VakıfBank to a convincing finish – 25:19 and the final 3:1.

The top scorer for the winners was Marina Markova with 26 points, Tiiana Bošković added 21, and Derya contributed 14. For Fenerbahçe, Melissa Vargas was again the leader in attack, but her efforts were not enough.
Thus, VakıfBank solidified its status as a leading force in Turkey with another title, while Fenerbahçe and Marcello Abbondanza were left with the silver medals after a dramatic final series.
