Women's volleyball champion Maritsa (Plovdiv) defeated last season's bronze medalist Levski with a 3:0 (25:23, 25:16, 25:22) victory in the first match between the two teams at the start of the new National Volleyball Demax+ League championship. The match was played in the "Levski Sofia" hall in front of about a hundred spectators.
The most contested was the first set, in which a relatively even score was maintained until the middle. Things turned after Dariya Ivanova from Levski suffered an injury at 14:13 for the "blues" in the first set and was replaced by Vyara Parapunova.

Maritsa pulled ahead by three points in the second half and led 24:21, but the hosts scored two consecutive points, which prompted the new Turkish coach of the Plovdiv team, Ahmetcan Erşimşek, to call a timeout. After that, Maritsa scored the final 25th point.

The visiting team was better in the second set and allowed the "blues" to score only 16 points.
In the third set, Levski put up resistance again, with the difference at the end being only one point - 21:22. But Maritsa's players prevailed with their experience and better performance at the end. The most effective player in the match was Mikaela Stoyanova from Levski with 20 points. Iva Dudova finished with the most points for Maritsa - 18 points, Dobi Hristoskova added 14, and the new addition to the "yellow-blues" Vanessa Agbortabi contributed 11 points to the victory.

Earlier in the day, CSKA convincingly defeated DKS Varna 3:0 (25:7, 25:13, 25:14). Varna's players scored only 20 points in the first two sets. In the third set, they were better on the court but could not withstand the "reds."
In the last match of the day, Maritsa 2022 defeated Dragoman 3:1 (25:20, 25:21, 20:25, 25:20) in their away game.
