Women's volleyball champion Maritsa (Plovdiv) starts the new season with a new emblem, the club announced. It now features a star in honor of the 10 championship titles won by the representative team.
Thus, the Plovdiv club becomes part of the established practice in the world of team sports and marks its success with new symbolism in its logo.
In addition, gold will be the predominant color in the "yellow-blue" kits for the new season, which will again be branded by football legend Hristo Stoichkov.
"Maritsa not only won 10 championship titles, but did so in 10 consecutive seasons, which has not been achieved by any club before in the history of Bulgarian volleyball. We cannot but be proud of this unique success. That is why we want to immortalize it by placing a golden star on our logo. Let the next generations of Plovdiv residents, who are associated with the Maritsa volleyball brand, also be proud of it. And we continue to work hard and hopefully other stars will be added to this one in the not too distant future," said Maritsa president Iliya Dinkov to the club's website.
Currently, the "yellow-blues" continue their pre-season preparation. The champions are in Istanbul, where today and tomorrow they will play two prestigious friendly matches against local Beşiktaş and VakıfBank.
