Lyubomir Ganev was re-elected for a new four-year term, new faces on the Board of Directors

Lyubomir Ganev was re-elected as president of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation.

During the general assembly of the federation, held at the 'Vitosha' hotel in the capital, Ganev received the majority of the delegates' votes and thus defeated his only rival for the post, Ivan Seferinov, president of the 'Slavia' Volleyball Club. Seferinov failed to enter the Board of Directors of the federation during the General Assembly vote. Thus, the possibility for him to have a vote for the president of Bulgarian volleyball was eliminated.

Petar Kanev was elected as first vice-president of the BFV, and Iliya Dyankov is the second vice-president. Borislav Kyosev, Zhivko Zhelev, and Ivaylo Konstantinov are vice-presidents.
Petar Kanev received the most votes for the Board of Directors – 105.

Aleksandar Vinaliev is chairman of the referee committee. He has also been proposed as a member of the referee committee of the European Confederation CEV.David Davidov became chairman of the Children and Youth Volleyball Commission. He will always have a place in our sport, and it doesn't matter that he is not a member of the Board of Directors. He will most likely remain chairman of the marketing commission as well.

All three now have the full opportunity to work. Immediately after the registration in the Commercial Register will be the first meeting of the Board of Directors. All members will be invited to the Supercup matches, which are on October 12 and 13. If we register by then, we will gather there for the first time.We have appointed two new employees in the federation in the "Children and Youth Volleyball" department. There we have over 2500 matches per year. Our goal is for all commissions to work like the National Volleyball League, which is the best developing and raised the level of work, which the other commissions failed to follow," Ganev told reporters after the end of the meeting.

"A decision on the coach of the women's national team will be made by the new Board of Directors. Lorenzo Micelli's contract has expired. Each of the new members will be able to propose candidacies and then a decision will be made on who will be the new coach. This is also valid for all coaches in the youth categories, where there are none yet," specified the old-new president of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation.
