The champions from Perugia warmed up for the Italian Super Cup with a 3:2 (18-25, 27-29, 25-15, 25-15, 15-12) victory over Lube Civitanova in the final of the Jesi Volley Cup. Perugia managed a full comeback against the rejuvenated Lube squad, with whom they will start the 80th SuperLega championship. Coach Giampaolo Medei's boys, who are the holders of last year's trophy, started the match without Alex Nikolov and Cininienze, but managed to go two sets down.

However, the experienced champions' team responded with two quick sets, taking the match to a tie-break. This was thanks to effective blocking and attack (67% efficiency in the third set, which changed the match).

Perugia also increased its good reception percentage, which allowed Simone Giannelli to engage all his attackers. The winning point for Angelo Lorenzetti's team was scored by new addition Ishikawa.

The tournament's MVP was Oleh Plotnytskyi, who had decisive plays in the comeback. The Ukrainian finished the match with 17 points, 4 aces, and 2 blocks.

For Lube, Bottolo finished with the most points - 14, followed by Dirlic with 11.
