Conegliano snatched the first final after a comeback against Milano

Champions Conegliano started with a difficult but valuable victory in the final series in Italy, after defeating Milan 3:2 (25:20, 25:27, 20:25, 27:25, 15:13) in front of a packed 'Palaverde' arena.
The match featured significant turnarounds. The hosts started strongly and took the first set, led by Gabi, Zhu, and Haak. Milan, however, reacted excellently – they improved their blocking and defensive play, and after strong performances by Egonu and Piva, they turned the score to 2:1 sets.
Just when it seemed the visitors were controlling the match, Conegliano showed championship character. In the fourth set, Santarelli's team applied serious pressure with their serves and blocks, reaching an equalizer after 27:25.
In the tie-break, Milan started better and took the lead, but a series of errors in attack and serve allowed Conegliano to get back into the game. Zhu equalized at 10:10, and in the decisive moments, Haak and Fahr tipped the scales in favor of the hosts.

A problem for the visitors was Egonu's condition at the end of the match; she suffered cramps and was substituted, which limited the team's offensive power in the decisive rallies.
