The Fenerbahçe Medicana team, led by Bulgaria's national coach Marcello Abbondanza, equalized the final series in the Turkish Sultans League after defeating VakıfBank away with 3:1 (19:25, 25:18, 25:18, 25:20). Thus, the series score became 1-1. This success comes at the right time to ease the pressure on the Italian, who had been criticized for Fenerbahçe's inconsistent season. After the loss in the first match, the management held an urgent meeting with the specialist, and some of the fans once again insisted on his replacement.

The match started better for the hosts, who took the first set with 25:19. In the second, however, Fenerbahçe improved their service game and found their rhythm to equalize after 25:18. In the third set, the visitors took control and led 12:7, after which they confidently reached another 25:18. In the fourth set, the "Yellow Angels" maintained their advantage and closed the match 3:1 after 25:20.
Melissa Vargas was the top scorer for the victory with 28 points, while Arina Fedorovtseva added 19.
Captain Eda Erdem acknowledged the importance of the victory:
"A very important victory. After the first set, we started serving better and found our rhythm."

The final series is played to three wins, and the third match is scheduled for April 13, again at VakıfBank's venue.
