Levski Sofia leveled the semifinal series in the Demax League after a dramatic 3:2 (12:25, 25:16, 25:22, 19:25, 15:11) victory over CPVK in the second match at the "Hristo Botev" hall.
The match started disastrously for the "Blues," who fell far behind early in the first set – 7:17 and 9:21, before conceding it 12:25. However, the reaction was immediate. Levski took a 5:0 lead in the second set and didn't relinquish the initiative until the end, winning convincingly 25:16.
The third set offered the most serious battle; after an even game, Levski made a decisive break at the end and closed it 25:22, turning the match around. CPVK, however, did not give up and maintained control in the fourth set at 18:22 and 18:23, sending the match to a tie-break after a 19:25 win.
In the decisive fifth set, Levski held a minimal lead at the change of courts – 8:7, but it was after that moment that they made the difference and reached 15:11.
The match was extremely even, which is evident from the overall point balance – 99:96 in favor of Levski. This was the second consecutive five-set clash in the series, after CPVK won the first encounter with the same result.
Levski captain Slavina Koleva finished with 21 points (2 blocks). Second in scoring for the winners was Gabriela Zhekova with 14 points (4 aces). Maria Zlatanova finished with 11 (1 block). In total, the "Blues" scored 13 points from blocks, with Simona Ivanova being #1 with 4 blocks, who recorded 9 points total.
Thus, the semifinal series is tied at 1:1 victories, and the third match is on April 11th at Levski Sofia's home hall, where the series promises even higher tension.
