The Bulgarian men's national volleyball team will face participants from the last Olympics, Germany and Slovenia, as well as Chile in Group "E" of the upcoming World Championship in the Philippines next year. This was decided by today's draw in the capital Manila. The championship will be held between September 12 and 28, 2025.
The group leaders from A to H were determined in advance - hosts from the Philippines, Poland, France, USA, Slovenia, Italy, Japan, and Brazil.
Bulgaria was together with Belgium, Turkey, Czech Republic, Egypt, Qatar, Portugal, and Finland in pot number 3.
Here is the composition of the groups:
Group "A"- Philippines, Iran, Egypt, Tunisia
Group "B"- Poland, Netherlands, Qatar, Romania
Group "C"- France, Argentina, Finland, South Korea
Group "D"- USA, Cuba, Portugal, Colombia
Group "E"- Slovenia, Germany,BULGARIA, Chile
Group "F"- Italy, Ukraine, Belgium, Algeria
Group "G" -Japan, Canada, Turkey, Lebanon
Group "H"- Brazil, Serbia, Czech Republic, China
After the three matches in the preliminary groups, the top two teams from each group will play in the 1/8 finals, followed by the 1/4 finals, semifinals, and medal distribution matches. Playoff matches and placement matches will also be held for all other teams outside the Top 8 - specifically for places 9-16, 17-24, and 25-32. Thus, each team will play 7 matches in 17 days.
