Retained Core and Expanded Depth

It is noteworthy that Thailand retains its key figures – setter Pornpun, opposite Pimpichaya, as well as outside hitters Ajcharaporn and Chatchu-On. This is the same core that led the team in VNL 2025.
At the same time, the selection has been significantly expanded, especially among middle blockers and outside hitters. This suggests a search for greater blocking stability and more attack options against physically stronger European teams.

Bulgaria vs. Thailand in VNL 2026

In this year's edition of the VNL, Bulgaria will once again face Thailand. The match is part of the second week of the tournament and will take place onJune 18 in Bangkok.
The clash has an added charge, as Bulgaria has already shown that it can successfully oppose this opponent, recording one of its three victories in VNL 2025 precisely against Thailand with 3:2 (26:24, 25:13, 21:25, 22:25, 15:9).

Thailand is not changing its identity, but upgrading it – a preserved core, more alternatives, and a clear goal to be more competitive against the elite. This is precisely what makes the upcoming match against Bulgaria in Bangkok one of the interesting clashes in the second week of the VNL 2026.
