The Management Board of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation made decisions regarding the new coaches for three of the youth national teams, approving names we announced yesterday.
Ventsislav Simeonov will lead the men's national team U20, coaching the team in the upcoming European Championship qualifiers. The tournament will take place in Sofia from August 25-29, with the team's objective being qualification for the finals.
For the men's U17 team, Ivan Stanev, head coach of Neftochimic, was chosen. An extremely busy schedule awaits him, with the first challenge being the Balkan Championship in Albania (August 4-8). Immediately after, the team will also participate in the World Championship in Doha (August 19-29), where they will face the best in the world.
Denislav Dimitrov was appointed coach for the Bulgarian women's national team U20, who currently coaches the Levski women's team. Under his leadership, the squad will prepare for the European Championship qualifiers in Bosnia and Herzegovina (August 19-23).
The federation's decisions confirm preliminary expectations, as all three specialists already have experience working with youth or within the national system. This is of key importance given the short deadlines until the first official tournaments.
The summer is shaping up to be extremely important for the development of these generations, and their performance in the qualifiers and on the world stage will provide a clear assessment of the potential of Bulgaria's young national players.
