Levski Sofia volleyball coach Nikolay Zhelyazkov spoke after his team's two victories in control matches against Serbian Vojvodina Novi Sad.

“I believe that as first such control matches and tests – they were extremely useful, as they gave us a starting point of what condition we are in. Some of the boys have been with us for a week, ten days, so it was important to see how we are working together and playing,” he said to the club's website.

“Generally, we did quite well. We made mistakes, a bit more on serve, but we were looking for a bit more risk in that element, so that's normal. It didn't go our way, but we had the calmness needed to avoid such situations – that our game wasn't going well. On the contrary, we continued to play focused after losing the first set and managed to show good play,” Zhelyazkov added.

“I believe that despite everything, a win is a win. It's important. Yesterday we won five consecutive sets, today we won 3:1. There are positives, but there is also a lot of work that we need to do,” the coach concluded.

Tomorrow and Saturday, Levski plays control matches against Beroe in Hristo Botev Hall. The matches are closed to fans and media.
