The Bulgarian national volleyball team failed to secure the "Man of the Year" award for 2025, despite their impressive performance on the world stage.
The "Lions" were among the three finalists in Darik Radio's prestigious poll, after winning silver medals at the World Championship in the Philippines ", one of the most significant achievements for Bulgarian volleyball in recent decades. In the final vote, however, the national team remained behind the winner Lazar Radkov, who garnered 55.2% of the public vote.

During the ceremony, the president of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, Lyubo Ganev, accepted the nomination on behalf of the team and emphasized the significance of their achievement.
"We showed that when we are united, we can bring joy to people and make them proud to be Bulgarians," Ganev stated from the stage.
Although they did not reach first place in the poll, the national team solidified its position as one of the symbols of Bulgarian sport in 2025, and their performance at the World Championship remains a strong argument for the rise of our men's volleyball.
We remind you that the award has been won individually by Matey Kaziyski, Plamen Konstantinov, and Vladimir Nikolov.
