Such a thing is rarely seen at Superliga level, but a real curiosity occurred in the match between Enisey and Zenit (Saint Petersburg), which ended 0:3. The Russian website "BO Sport" tells about it.
The situation is from the second set with the score 5:3 for Zenit. Žiga Štern serves, and Vladislav Babkevich finishes the attack without a problem. In the next moment, the Enisey players start looking around – something is wrong.
It turns out that the team from Krasnoyarsk played the entire rally... with five players.
Libero and captain Alexander Yanutov was off the court at that moment. A little earlier, Vitaly Fettsov scored a point, after which Yanutov congratulated his teammates and left without being replaced. Thus, Enisey was left with one player less, but the rally still proceeded normally. No one reacted immediately, and after the point, the game continued as if nothing had happened. In the next rally, Yanutov was already back on the court.
A curious moment that will certainly remain one of the strangest situations of the season.
