Dinamo Bucharest qualified for the semifinals of the Romanian championship after winning the decisive third match of the quarterfinal series against CSM Constanta with a score of 3:2. Thus, the team from the capital closed the series with 2:1 victories and advances, where Voluntari awaits them in an interesting Bulgarian clash.
Bulgarian international Radostina Marinova played a key role in the success, finishing with 14 points (+7 efficiency), recording 1 ace and 1 block, with 38% attack efficiency.
Dinamo, who finished the regular season in third place, started the playoffs against sixth-placed Constanta. The Bucharest team dominated the first match with a 3:0 victory, but allowed an equalization after a 2:3 loss in the second, before achieving success in the decisive third match – 3:2.
In the semifinals, Dinamo will face the second-placed team from the regular season, CSO Voluntari 2005, who advanced through the quarterfinals without hesitation. Voluntari recorded two convincing victories against seventh-placed Lugoj – 3:0 and 3:0, to conclude the series with 2:0 wins.
The clash between Dinamo and Voluntari will also have a Bulgarian accent, as Kristina Guncheva is part of the Voluntari squad, guaranteeing a direct duel between two Bulgarians for a spot in the final.
