The French specialized volleyball website VolleyActu published a video ranking of the best young volleyball players in the world under 23 years old. In the podcast format of the channel, the two hosts – Mario and Leo – present their personal Top 10 rankings, with the order based on both the current level of the players and their future potential.
The strong Bulgarian presence makes a serious impression. Aleksandar Nikolov and Simeon Nikolov are among the highest-rated young players in the world.
Regarding Aleksandar Nikolov, the hosts emphasize that he is no longer just a huge talent, but a player who has proven himself at the highest level. They draw attention to his consistency in the Italian SuperLega, his leadership role in the national team, and his ability to almost single-handedly decide matches. According to them, he is already among the strongest players in his position in the world, despite still being under 23 years old.
Equally impressive are the comments about Simeon Nikolov. The French describe him as a phenomenal setter for his age, who plays with confidence, courage, and maturity rarely seen in such a young player. They also emphasize his attacking play and his ability to take responsibility in crucial moments.
Interestingly, the two hosts provide different rankings, with Aleksandar Nikolov being placed first by one and second by the other, which once again shows how highly the Bulgarian national player is rated.
