Camillo Placi's son became European free boxing champion

Luigi Placi, son of former Bulgaria men's national volleyball team coach Camillo Placi, won the European professional free boxing title. The Italian triumphed with the IKTA federation's championship belt, marking a strong start to his professional career in combat sports.

The news sparked interest in volleyball circles, as the Placi family is well-known in the sport. The new champion's father, Camillo Placi, is one of the respected names in international volleyball, having worked at the highest level as a coach for many years.

The Italian specialist also left a significant mark on the Bulgarian national team, where he was part of Radostin Stoychev's staff and later became the head coach of Bulgaria. Under his leadership, "the Lions" continued to be among the world's leading teams and regularly participated in major championships.

After his tenure in Bulgaria, Placi also achieved significant success as the coach of Tunisia, leading the team to the Round of 16 at the World Championship in Manila last year, which stands as one of the country's strongest performances on the world stage.

Today, the sporting journey of the Placi family continues in a different way – this time outside the volleyball court. With Luigi Placi's European title, the family name once again appeared in sports news, albeit in a completely different discipline.

An interesting detail is that Camillo Placi's daughter, Roberta Placi, graduated in physiotherapy from the National Sports Academy in Sofia and today works as a physiotherapist in professional volleyball in Italy.
