Two rounds before the end of the regular season in efbet Super Volley, the tension at the top of the standings remains high. Two of the main contenders – Levski Sofia and Neftochimic 2010 (Burgas) – recorded clean 3:0 victories, but under completely different scenarios.
While the champions from Levski imposed control from the very first rallies and broke Cherno More without serious hesitation, the Burgas team had to go through a more tense moment. In their match against Beroe, the Stara Zagora team took a convincing lead in the second set with an advantage of 6 –7 points, but the hosts found a way to turn the tide and achieve a crucial success that solidified their positions in the top three.
Levski left no chance for Cherno More.
The champions from Levski Sofia confidently continue their march towards first place in the regular season. In a match from the 20th round, the "Blues" defeated Cherno More (Varna) at home with a convincing 3:0 (25:16, 25:19, 25:17).
The capital team controlled the game throughout the entire match and did not allow the guests to seriously close the gap in the score. Strong serves and a stable block tipped the scales in favor of the hosts, who closed the match in just three sets.
With this success, Levski recorded their 17th victory in the championship and drew level on points at the top with Lokomotiv Avia (Plovdiv) – both with 46 points, although they remain in second place due to a less favorable set ratio (50:16).
A curious moment in the champions' squad was the starting debut of 16-year-old middle blocker Adrian Ganev, who played the entire match and contributed solidly to the block.
The most prolific scorer for the winners was Julian Weizig with 16 points, while Todor Skrimov added 13 points, including four aces.
Neftochimic broke Beroe after a comeback in the second set.
In the last match of the round, Neftochimic 2010 (Burgas) also achieved a clean victory, but the path to it was more tense. Ivan Stanev's team defeated Beroe 2016 (Stara Zagora) 3:0 (25:22, 25:23, 25:17) in front of over 250 spectators in the "Boycho Branzov" hall.
A key moment in the match was the second set, in which the guests from Stara Zagora took a convincing lead with a difference of 6 –7 points. However, the Burgas team gradually narrowed the deficit, stabilized their reception, and in the decisive rallies, turned the score around, which practically broke the opponent's resistance.
In the third set, Neftochimic completely controlled the game and closed the match without problems.
The top scorer for the hosts was Adi Osmanovic with 14 points, after coming on as a substitute in the first set. Kaloyan Balabanov and Ricardo Junior added 11 and 10 points respectively.
The Most Valuable Player (MVP) award was earned by setter Dmytro Dolgopolov, who not only orchestrated the team's play but also scored 6 points, including four aces.
For Beroe, Velizar Chernokozhev was the top scorer with 16 points, and Mahdi Bentahher added 11.
