Two Polish national team players became miners for a day, due to a sponsor of their club team. We are talking about Jastrzębski Węgiel, whose team recently visited the Borynia-Zofiówka-Bzie coal mine, managed by their strategic partner, Jastrzębska Spółka Węglowa S.A. This event provided the volleyball players and the team staff with an in-depth look at coal mining technology and the difficult conditions faced by underground miners.
The delegation, consisting of players and coaching staff, spent an afternoon at the mine. They were first informed about the technological process in which the mine operates, before putting on work clothes for practical safety training at the mine's rescue station. This training covered the use primarily of rescue apparatus, essential equipment for every miner.
After their tour, the team and the mine's management enjoyed a shared meal, further strengthening the bond between the club and its partner. Łukasz Kaczmarek and Norbert Huber were particularly impressed by the experience. Kaczmarek highlighted the extreme conditions and dangers faced by miners, while Huber praised the opportunity to witness the daily risks taken by those who support the club.
