Alex Grozdanov with 14 points in Bogdanka's dramatic 15th victory in Poland

Bulgarian national team captain Alex Grozdanov played a very strong match in BOGDANKA LUK Lublin's difficult 3:2 (30:28,23:25,28:30,25:23,15:11) victory over Cuprum Stilon Gorzów in a match from the 24th round of the PlusLiga.

The middle blocker finished with 14 points and a +10 efficiency rating, achieving 3 blocks and an impressive 61% attack success rate with 50% efficiency – metrics that solidify his role as a key figure in the championship squad.
The match was extremely contested, with three of the sets decided after extra points. Lublin was trailing 1:2 in sets but showed character in the fourth set, and in the tie-break, they gained the upper hand after an 8:5 lead at the change of courts. In decisive moments, the hosts were more stable, and the block – with Grozdanov at its core – played a significant role in the final success.
The top scorer of the match was Wilfredo León with 32 points, who was logically chosen as the MVP of the match. For the guests, Chizoba Neves Atu finished with the same total of 32 points, keeping his team in the game multiple times, especially in the third set, won after 30:28. Kwasowski added 16 points for Gorzów.
This was the 15th victory for the reigning champions, who remain in third place in the provisional standings, behind ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle and Projekt Warszawa. The next big challenge is precisely against the team from the capital – on March 8, a direct clash between teams at the top of the standings, in which the Lublin team will seek an opportunity to get closer to second place.
