Alex Grozdanov with 14 points in Bogdanka's dramatic 15th victory in Poland

The captain of the Bulgarian national team, Alex Grozdanov, played a very strong match in BOGDANKA LUK Lublin's difficult 3:2(30:28,23:25,28:30,25:23,15:11) victory over Cuprum Stilon Gorzów in a match from the 24th round of the PlusLiga.

The middle blocker finished with 14 points and a +10 efficiency rating, achieving 3 blocks and an impressive 61% attack success rate with 50% efficiency – statistics that solidify his role as a key figure in the championship squad.
The match was extremely competitive, with three of the sets decided after extended play. Lublin was trailing 1:2 in sets but showed character in the fourth set, and in the tie-break, took the lead at 8:5 during the change of sides. In the decisive moments, the hosts were more stable, and the block – with Grozdanov at its core – played an important role in the final victory.
Wilfredo León was the top scorer in the match with 32 points and was logically chosen as the match MVP. For the visitors, Chizoba Neves Atu finished with the same tally of 32 points, who kept his team in the game multiple times, especially in the third set, won 30:28. Kwasowski added 16 points for Gorzów.
This was the 15th victory for the reigning champions, who remain in third place in the provisional standings, behind ZAWIERCIE and Projekt Warszawa. Their next big challenge is precisely against the capital city team – on March 8, a direct clash between teams at the top of the standings, in which the Lublin team will seek an opportunity to close in on the second-placed team.
