Two Super League giants wanted Jasmin Velichkov

Two teams from the Italian SuperLega have made better financial offers to the 18-year-old Bulgarian talent Zhasmin Velichkov for the new season, learnedvolleyweek.bg. Despite the tempting conditions, our national team player has made a strategic decision to continue his development at his current club - Monza.

Contract and Emanuele Birarelli's key role

Velichkov has an active three-year contract with the team from the Brianza region. His transfer to Italy was realized with the active assistance of former Italian national player, long-time Trento player and current volleyball agent Emanuele Birarelli, who has been working on the development of young talents for years.

After consultations between the player and his management team, it was decided that the Bulgarian would stay in Monza, despite the better financial parameters offered by other clubs.

Playing time - priority over money

Both teams, which are among the top 5 in the Italian championship, did not guarantee a place in the main six for the young Bulgarian. This detail proved to be crucial.

The strategy is clear - Velichkov should get more playing time, take responsibility, and gain experience in a real competitive environment. In the context of the strongest club championship in the world, this is an investment in long-term development, not a short-term financial dividend.

Changes in Monza's squad open up opportunities

Monza will undergo serious personnel changes next season. Some of the key figures are leaving, and this rotation creates a real opportunity for Velichkov to participate more significantly in SuperLega matches.

With proper load management and trust from the coaching staff, the young Bulgarian can become one of the beneficiaries of the transitional period at the club.

Strategic decision with an eye on the future

Zhasmin Velichkov's decision shows a maturity atypical for his age. Instead of accepting better financial conditions without a guarantee of playing time, he chooses an environment where he has a real chance to develop.

For the Bulgarian national team, this is excellent news. More minutes at a high level in the SuperLega mean faster growth, greater stability, and accumulation of game culture - factors that will be crucial in the coming years.
