Italian specialist Francesco Cadeddu is the new head coach of the Egyptian giant Zamalek. The news was first reported by the website of the '24 Chasa' newspaper.
Cadeddu, who is part of the Bulgarian national team's staff as an assistant to Gianlorenzo Blengini, took over at the beginning of February one of the two traditional hegemons in Egyptian volleyball, alongside Al Ahly. Cadeddu had been released by the Bulgarian club Neftochimic days before the start of the Bulgarian Cup tournament.
From the club's official publications, it is clear that the team is on an excellent run of results under his leadership. Zamalek recorded a 3:1 set victory against Al Jazeera, followed by a decisive 3:0 against Wadi Degla, a dramatic 3:2 over Misr Petroleum, as well as another league victory within the same period.
Thus, Cadeddu started his tenure in Egypt with four consecutive successes in the national championship, which solidifies the team's strong position in the current campaign.
The Italian took over one of the most decorated clubs in the country and, already in his first month of work, is showing stability in results.
The start is more than convincing "," four victories and a positive momentum in the championship.
Cadeddu's appointment comes at a time when the club is seeking stability and improvement, and for the Bulgarian public, the topic is also interesting due to his connection with the national team.
